A few years ago 2020, Xiaomi released their entry level phone Redmi 9C. This smartphone has a Triple Camera with a resolution of 13MP, depth lens and 2MP macro. For meeting and school purposes, the camera capabilities are quite adequate.
The main camera of the Redmi 9C phone is equipped with a 13MP lens with Auto Focus (PDAF) aperture f/2.2. In shooting a scene, the results are less sharp and look a little noise. In low light conditions, we cannot expect the quality to get maximum photos.
As for the front camera, it still looks a little better. Selfie shots are good enough to focus on our face with a blur effect on the background. If you just upload it on social media, there is no problem.
For video recording capabilities both front and rear cameras can reach 1080p at 30 fps. The video results are quite accurate but the lighting conditions are good when recording.
Xiaomi presents Redmi 9C not to target users who are fond of photography but more intended for users who need a smartphone for learning and communication activities.
Even so, we can still improve the camera quality of this phone with the help of the most recommended third-party application, GCAM.
What is GCAM?
Table of Contents
GCAM is an advanced camera app that allows us to take high-quality photos and videos at full resolution. It is a modified version of the Google Camera app, so we can enjoy all the capabilities and features present in the Pixel phone camera.
For those who don’t know, Google Camera is the default camera app of Pixel smartphones. So for Android users other than these phones cannot install it, even though it is available in the Play store.
This app provides some advanced features, such as HDR+, Dual Exposure Controls, Motion Photos, Video Stabilization, Smartburst, Panorama, Playground, Photobooth, Night Sight and Astrophotography.
But not all of these features we can use because there are some features that require special hardware and CameraAPI2 access.
