Screenshots have many functions and can be useful in various situations. For Oppo A17 and A17k users who don’t know how to take screenshots, you can follow our guide.
Screenshotting is the process of taking an image of the display screen of a device, be it a smartphone, tablet, or computer. Almost every day we use this feature to share with friends on social media.
By taking a screenshot, you can easily share the information visible on the screen with others. For example, if you find a fault with your phone and want to notify a technician or want to share a snippet of a conversation on a messaging app, you can take a screenshot and send it to a friend.
In addition, screenshots can be used to save information that you may want to refer back to at a later date. For example, if you find an article on DroidBeep.com interesting, you can take a screenshot for future reference.
Basically, every smartphone brand has a different way of taking screenshots. On Oppo devices there are several methods that are easy for you to use.

Table of Contents
Screenshots are very useful in creating tutorials or guides. By capturing important steps in the form of screen shots, you can give others a clear visual guide on how to perform a task or setting.
You can use Oppo’s built-in screenshot feature to take screen images, save to Photos, and share them to social media. Use some of the following methods to take a screenshot on Oppo A17.
Press the Power and Volume Down Buttons
If you need the fastest way to take screenshots on Oppo A17, we recommend using the combination of the Volume and Power buttons.
For the method, please press the Power button and the Volume Down button simultaneously.
If the device screen is already blinking and you hear the camera sound, it indicates that the screen capture has been completed.
The screen will then show a preview of the screenshot results and the Scroll option to take long screenshots.
3-finger screenshot
If you want to take a screenshot without a button, you can use this method. Simply swipe the screen using your 3 fingers. However, make sure this feature has been enabled beforehand.
See how below to enable 3-finger screenshots on Oppo A17 and A17k:
- Open the Settings app on your Oppo phone.
- Then go to System Settings.
- Then select Convenience Tool.
- And then tap the Screenshot option.
- Next activate the 3-Finger Swipe Down.
- Then swipe down with three fingers on any screen to take a quick screenshot.
Once the screenshot is taken, a floating preview window will be displayed on the left of the screen. To share the screenshot, tap the Send option. If you want to take a scrolling screenshot, tap the Scroll button.
Smart Sidebar
If the two methods above are still unsatisfactory, you must try taking screenshots on Oppo A17 with the Smart Sidebar feature. However, you must first enable this feature in the ColorOS 12 settings.
- The first step is to open Settings.
- Then scroll down and select Special Features.
- After that, tap Smart Sidebar, and activate it by tapping the switch until it turns green.
- When it is done enabling, swipe to the center of the transparent white line on the right side of the screen.
- On the Smart Sidebar panel, tap the icon named Screenshot.
Tap the floating preview window to display the screenshot in full screen. You can crop, send, tag, edit, or delete the screenshot and use it as a wallpaper or contact profile photo.

- First open the Settings app on Oppo A17.
- Then scroll down and tap System Settings.
- The next step, you select Convenience Tools then tap Screenshots.

To take a long screenshot on Oppo A17, just use one of the methods above.
After the preview appears, tap the Scroll button. The screen will automatically be captured to the bottom of the page.
